This historic fishing village is at the north end of Hwy. 101, about 20 minutes north of Powell River. The Thulin brothers from Sweden founded the town in 1889. The heritage Lund Hotel, built by the brothers in 1895, has a distinctive charm. The town offers salmon sport fishing right off the breakwater, with a boardwalk, craft shops, café and restaurants overlooking the harbour. A water taxi from Lund will take you to the white sand beaches of Savary Island. North of Lund is the Copeland Islands Marine Park. An easy day trip by canoe or kayak, it’s a popular anchorage for private and charter boats.
