A few prime sites in Vancouver, Coast & Mountains:
- Golden Ears Provincial Park. About 45 minutes by car from Vancouver. Stunning mountain views, with swimming in Alouette Lake and wilderness hiking.
- Vedder and Chilliwack Rivers. Camp beside some very fine freshwater fishing about two hours from Vancouver.
- Cultus Lake, Manning, and Skagit Valley Provincial Parks. All in Mighty Fraser Country within one to three hours of Vancouver.
- Harrison Lake. Camp or park your RV near the famous mineral hot springs, or head for Sasquatch Provincial Park.
- Fraser Canyon. Camp close to the Thompson or Fraser Rivers in gold rush country.
- Alice Lake and Garibaldi Provincial Parks. North of Squamish in Sea to Sky Country, both have excellent campsites and outdoor recreation. There are also private campgrounds from Whistler through Pemberton and Lillooet.
- Sunshine Coast. Camp in marine parks or land-based sites along Hwy. 101. RV facilities are also available. Porpoise Bay and Saltery Bay Provincial Parks offer campsites. Canoe or kayak to secluded inlets or islands for wilderness camping by waterfalls or on mountainsides. Or camp along the Sunshine Coast Trail on the Upper Sunshine Coast.
Safety Tips: Do not leave campfires unattended. Protect forests by refraining from using fallen wood and branches for campfires - purchase wood from the campground instead. Always respect and abide by burning regulations. |
