Located in the heart of the Fraser Valley, Mission is a historic “Meeting Place”. The city hosts a number of events throughout the year; some of the bigger events are the Soap Box Derby in June, Mission Folk Festival in July, Fraser Valley Bald Eagle Festival in November, Candlelight Parade in December, Twilight concerts in Heritage Park throughout the summer and drag racing at Mission Raceway Park March through November.

The Visitor Information Centre, located on Highway 7, soon to be named Scenic 7, is open year round, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday September to June and 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., seven days a week July and August. The VIC is run by the Mission Regional Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with Tourism BC. The Mission Regional Chamber of Commerce is a community leader, enhancing growth, prosperity and the quality of life through service, communication and representation.
