Maplewood is a 2.5 hectare park-farm operated by the District of North Vancouver, Parks Dept. Specializing in the display of domestic farm animals and birds, the Farm offers three contact areas where folks can go inside and visit with the animals: Rabbitat where the bunnies reside; Goathill where the goat kids and their moms play; and the Duck Yard where the ducks and geese hang out. A milking demonstration is held daily @ 1:15pm featuring the Jersey cow, Daisy. Pony Rides are available seasonally.
Special Events include Sheep Fair in May; seasonal demonstrations; and Behind the Scenes events which are offered throughout the year and can be booked in advance. The Behind the Scenes is very popular, enabling children and their parents to visit the usually staff only areas preparing feeds, bedding, grooming, egg collecting and animal feeding.
Regular and group admissions are: $4.90 per Adult and $2.85 per child or senior. Pricing includes taxes. Special Event admissions vary.
The Farm is open year round daily April through August and September through March, closed on Mondays only. Hours are always 10am to 4pm.
