 It is a plant widely used in the West for its regulating hormones effects, antihemorrhagic, , astringent, healing, absorbent and intestinal antiinfectious.


INTERNAL: diarrhea, anti-haemorrhage, intestinal vigorous antiseptic, uterine antiseptic, astringent, bactericide, hormonal regulator (acts on gonads and adrenocortical).

EXTERNAL: antiseptic, astringent, healing


 INTERNAL: – diarrhea, chronic diarrhea, dysentery, colitis fermentation, enterocolitis, intestinal bleeding, internal bleeding (adjuvant) – painful irregular periods, accompanied by strong or prolonged bleeding -menopause: hot flashes, palpitations, states of irritation or anxiety, bleeding – female infertility, uterine prolapse, puberty disorders, premature puberty, acne (hormonal background) – mastitis, fibrocystic mastitis, ovarian cyst, uterine fibroids, clutter contraceptive therapy, uterine and breast cancer (adjuvant).


 INTERNAL: The powder – the plant is fine grounded with the electric coffee grinder and is sifted through a sieve for white flour. Take, usually, a teaspoon 4 times per day on an empty stomach. Description of the species. 2-3 m tall shrub quite prevalent through bushes, in stony places, has the stalk right, barbed. The leaves, some are alternate, oval, short toothed with ribbed edge, others transformed into thorns…

Active ingredients: Many alkaloids, of which the most important is berberine, then barberry and berbamina.

Pharmacological Action: Because of the berberine, the product has choleretic, cholagogue, stomachic and febrifuge properties, and because of the barberry  has vasodilatory and hypotensive properties.

Usage: Is used as raw material in the pharmaceutical industry for the preparation of tincture and extract used in the treatment of biliary diseases and the obtaining of pure active principles.
