Canadian Specialists Program

The Canadian Tourism Commission has just completed the launch of their enhanced Canadian Specialist program in all our markets: US, India, Brazil, China, Mexico, Japan, United Kingdom, S. Korea, France, Germany and Australia. You can preview the program via http://csp.canada.travel/. The Canadian Specialist Program (CSP) is an interactive standardized program that offers travel agents a user-friendly way to sell Canada more effectively. The easy-to-use format gives agents a competitive edge for Canada and allows them to offer high degree of customer satisfaction.

CSP training is like a personalized tour through Canada's "wow" experiences. The series is presented in eight training modules: Introduction, British Columbia/Alberta, Manitoba/Saskatchewan, Ontario/Quebec, Atlantic Provinces, Canada’s North, Winter Experiences and Aboriginal Experiences. Imaginative visuals make the learning experience fun with such tools as an interactive map with itineraries and classic driving routes for agents and operators to download, plus photo carousels that showcase Canadian travel experiences. While learning at their own pace, agents must pass a quiz on each module to progress to the next. As a time investment is required, we are seeing that agents completing the course are true sellers of Canada and have embraced the many wonderful assets the country offers.

Agents successfully completing the course receive a suitable for framing certificate and will also gain access to a wide range of benefits outside website offerings—CSP agent familiarization (fam) trips, discounts, partnership funding for promotions, listing on the CTC’s consumer website, window display materials—and much more depending on markets.

The CTC requests your input to provide some significant special offers for CSP graduates when they visit your province. This can be hotel discounts, industry rates, attraction passes, spa discounts, rental car offers, city tours, complimentary cocktail or breakfast, etc. Agents taking advantage of the offers will contact you or your designated suppliers directly through the details you provide which will be posted on our CSP web site in all markets. CTC would request them to provide you a copy of their Canadian Specialist certificate, which can be done either via e mail or in person. Spouse or agent guests should be included in the offer. Please provide any restrictions you require. You should also provide a direct link to your website that they will include in the posting.

OFFER WITH VALID DATES (please provide generous travel window).

Seeking French suppliers

The Société de développement économique de la Colombie-Britannique (SDECB) is alive with more opportunities for businesses to showcase our rich history, talented artisans and cultural diversity through the development of a gourmet culinary & cultural tour. This tour will follow the path of the Coast Mountain Circle Route, through Vancouver-Hope-Lytton-Lillooet-Pemberton-Whistler-Squamish-Vancouver.

Do you know any artisans in the VCM region that produce local food, bakers, cheese, honey & chocolate makers, to winemakers, cooking classes, gastronomic restaurants, markets, cultural attractions, festivals and small, tasteful accommodations and preferably who have someone who speaks French on site?

We will build on the Circle Farm Tour success to appeal to national and international francophone tourism markets. The tour itinerary is anticipated to be completed by the end of this year and it will be posted on www.tourisme-cb.com. This website attracts over 120,000 annual visits. The SDECB markets directly with leading outgoing tour operators in Canada and France who promote Western Canada.

If you know of any businesses that might be appropriate please contact Gisele Marion, Culinary & Cultural Tourism Consultant at gisele.marion@shaw.ca.

Thank you so much in being a part of building this culinary and cultural tour in your Region !
