Fighting Your Day Off

Another tip that you can follow is to always work twice as hard the day after falling off the horse. It’s not a huge deal if you take a day off and end up eating a few thousand calories worth of food, but the trick is to work really hard in the following days to work away those extra calories. Also if you can it is also a good idea to work out either before or after you imbibe in that huge meal.

Don’t Cut Out Snacks

One thing that many people do when dieting and trying to lose weight is to get rid of snacks all together, but that isn’t a good thing because being hungry means having a lack of energy and even worse is not being able to concentrate on the task at hand due to a constantly rumbling belly. Instead of cutting out snack time you can just replace those chips, that chocolate, or those muffins with some healthy veggies and dip or even an apple too.

Having The Right Music

A great way to get into work out on a daily basis, especially if you are exercising alone is to listen to your favorite music, more accurately listening to music that gets you motivated and pumped up is the way to go. Listening to fast paced music will make you work harder and will make the time pass faster as you run along or lift weights.

Get Rid Of Chafe

One of the most uncomfortable things to experience when working out is chafing. Chafing is caused by increased friction or rubbing along with lots of moisture, also known as your sweat. Chafing can really hurt, burn, and end up causing a pretty severe rash. In order to avoid this you can rub an anti-chafing stick in places where you tend to chafe. Also clothing that wicks away moisture will be really helpful for this too.

Always Drink Water

One really important tip to follow when exercising on a daily basis is to always replenish your water. Not having enough water can cause you to have a lack of energy which of course affects your workout in a negative way. A lack of hydration can also cause headaches, cramps, and a bad sleep, all of which are definitely not good for exercising. Water is also great for flushing out unwanted toxins too. Note that you probably shouldn’t drink too many sports drinks like Powerade or Gatorade because although they will replenish your electrolytes, they also have a lot of sugar and calories which ends up being quite counterproductive to your workout.

Eating Before You Workout

A good idea is to always eat a good meal that is full of carbohydrates before you exercise, especially if it’s going to be an intense day of lifting weights or even running a marathon. Eating a lot of carbs, something like oatmeal with fruits, will give you the energy that you need to get through the workout with ease. Another good idea is actually do drink coffee before a long work out because it will supply you with energy and the caffeine will increase your focus. The best rule to follow when it comes to eating before exercise is to not eat for 90 minutes before the work out.

Spice It Up

A problem that many people have when it comes to dieting is that it gets boring and all of those fruits and veggies probably don’t taste that good. Therefore it’s a great idea to spice things up and use a lot of herbs and spices to make those diet foods taste just a little bit better. Even some lime or lemon juice can really add some bang to a diet food without adding all of the extra calories of something like mayonnaise.

Change Things Up

We all know that basic workout routines can get very tedious and boring, especially when you do them for weeks on end. No matter what you do it is going to get boring. Elliptical machines, bikes, running, lifting weights, and even team sports can all become a nuisance when you have to do them all of the time, pretty much just because you are forcing yourself to do them. The trick here is to do some sort of cross training that involves your regular routine and involves something new too. If you always run you can try biking or if you always bike you can try lifting some weights. If all of that stuff gets boring you can even try taking a dance class or just dancing in your own home to some of your favorite music.

Run Ready

When you go out for a long run or bike ride it is always a good idea to go prepared and have the essentials with you. It’s always a good idea to bring along some water, a cell phone in case of emergencies, some music to keep you occupied, and your road ID, which is a bracelet that has your important information on it. Another good thing to bring with you is a pair of sunglasses because not only do they reduce glare, but they also reduce the need for you to squint and that can cause your shoulders to be more relaxed, ultimately making your run a lot easier.

Fast Food Can Be Healthy

You don’t have to cut out fast food completely because we all know that sometimes you just don’t have time to prepare a full meal that is both tasty and healthy. Something that you can do is to look up the nutrition facts about the place you want to eat at because chances are that they will have some lower calorie and healthier options than their usual bacon crusted, cheese slathered double patty burger. Try order salads, chili bowls, or even grilled chicken. This will let you get a good meal in while still being healthy.
