SAGE – ITS EFFECTIVENESS IS INDUBITABLE PART 2

OTHER INTEERNAL USE: As an adjuvant, along with specific plants to the condition being treated, the sage has very good effects on the following diseases and symptoms: tremor, dizziness, paralysis, hypotension, poor circulation of blood, varices.

EXTERNAL:- gingivitis, bleeding gums, parodontosis, gum recession, oral thrush – strong rinses of the mouth with concentrated cold soak 3-4 times per day.- leukorrhoea – vaginal lavage with concentrated combined infusion. Will be performed twice per day, morning and evening.-angina, laryngitis, throat diseases in general – gargle with cold soak.- eczema – lavage the affected areas with concentrated combined infusion several times per day. After washing, the affected area is left to air for dry for a period of time. In case of persistent eczema is indicated the applying of sage and yarrow cataplasm.- infant debility – concentrated combined infusion baths.

METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION

The powder – finely ground the plant with an electric coffee grinder, then sieve through a flour sifter. Take, usually, a teaspoon 3 times per day on an empty stomach. The powder is put under the tongue for 10-15 minutes, then swallow it with water. The powder can not be preserved longer than 7 days because it alters its properties.

The combined infusion (prescription for 250 ml.) – 1-2 teaspoons of sage powder is left to soak in a half a cup of water from evening to morning, when is filtered; keep the soak, scald the remaining powder in half a cup of hot water for 20 minutes, then allow it to cool; combine the two extracts; drink the preparation with a quarter of an hour before meal. Dose – 3 cups per day.

Macerate – 2 teaspoons of sage powder are put in a cup (250 ml.) with water and is left to soak approx. 7 hours, then is filtered. Consume 1-2 cups of macerate per day.

Concentrated combined infusion – is prepared just like the previously shown except that it will be more concentrated: 2-3 tablespoons of plant instead of 1-2 teaspoons.

Cataplasm – finely ground the plant with an electric coffee grinder, then mix in a bowl with warm water until is formed a paste that is placed in a gauze  and applied on the affected area.

CONTRAINDICATIONS: Is not indicated during lactation because of its galactagogue effect.

In Indian medicine, Ayurveda, it is said: “Sage has a special strength in removing emotional and mental obstructions, making you calm and see clear. Also, it  helps reduce desire and excessive passion.”
