LAVENDER (Lavandula officinalis) BESIDE ITS BEAUTIFUL FRAGRANCE HAS MANY GOOD EFFECT ON THE HEALTH PART 1
Known to most of us, especially because of its very fine and penetrating scent, lavender is part of the plants with a long history of therapeutic use, being known and used since ancient times for its therapeutic action on the digestive, nervous, circulatory system, for mitigating pain sensation effects. This plant records is confirmed by the latest researches and even completed with several outstanding shares: the strong anti-infective one (including Staphylococcus aureus) and antifungal. Has antidepressant and anti-insomnia effects comparable to those of some powerful drugs currently used to treat these disorders. Also, there was demonstrated recently the effects of anticancer (slowing or stopping for a period of time the disease progression) of some substances in the lavender. Lavender is one of the few plants that can be placed in the category of calming, anxiolytics and effectives natural analgesic. Here are the main actions and broad therapeutic indications of this plant.
INTERNAL: Plant: anxiolytic -strong, sedative -good, analgesic -light, hypnotic -medium, antidepressant -good, antispasmodic -strong, incentive of peripheral blood circulation -good, digestive -good, stomachic, carminative -good uterine incentive of reduced intensity, antifebril of reduced intensity, antiseptic -good, choleretic –medium, cholagogue –medium, antimicrobial -good, anticancer, antioxidant, tonic general-medium, anti-inflammatory -good.
EXTERNAL: epithelial regenerating and revitalizing -very good, anti-inflammatory -strong, astringent, vulneraria, healing, speeds the healing of wounds and burns, antimicrobial -strong (strong acting upon Staphylococcus aureus and Enterococcus faecium), antifungal -strong (clear effects were found for Malassezia furfur infections, Trichophyton rubrum, Trichisporon beigelii), anticancer, effectively stops the hair loss and combat dandruff, anti-rheumatic good, anti-arthritic -medium-weak, analgesic -medium, antioxidant -good.
